The importance of excellent interpersonal communication in an organisation

Without communication, no organisation. This goes for both external communication (how else would the world know why you exist) as well as internal communication (how else would a product or service come to be within an organisation without communicating). And an important part of that internal communication is at interpersonal level: The manner in which people within the organisation communicate with one another determines which activities are undertaken and how, where and with whom these activities are undertaken. In other words, the organisation’s achievements are directly and indirectly influenced by interpersonal communication. This is true in all three directions: Top-down, horizontally and bottom-up. If you want an excellent organisation you will need excellent communication and by extension excellent interpersonal communication.
